Death Is about the living
(The dead are gone)
Death is so much about the living than the dead.
From the day we are born, from the moment we arrive on this earth, one message has been constant, death is the ultimate end. None of us will leave this world alive and most importantly, death is not a respecter of anyone, it will come whenever it chooses to come and nothing can stop It.
Shakespeare said, “it seems to me most strange that men should fear, death being the ultimate end, will come when it will come”.
When death finally comes, it has little to do with the dead. He or she is dead and gone, oblivious to the world they left behind. For whatever is your belief, biblical hell or oblivion, we can all agree that death is the end of a being on earth, just like birth is the beginning, and everything that has a beginning has an ending.
Death is a reminder to the living that nothing lasts forever and they are mortal beings.
Death plunges the living into grief and grief is what happens to you when you have too much love to give, but nowhere to spend it. The harder you love, the harder your grief. The more people you let yourself, love, the more grief you suffer.
Death is an indication to the living that they are not invisible. Death causes pain to the living. It opens the living to so much pain and bitterness.
Death is the living’s nightmare. The dead are dead and gone, but the living is reminded of what they will leave behind; they are reminded of the fragility and the temporary nature of things.
Death takes from the living. It is the living who bears the brunt of death. It is so much about the living than the dead.
