For All The Women In Me

(Note to self)

I hope you know that it is safe to sit here with yourself and pour out your pain like a fountain.
I hope you know that you can hold yourself, lean on your shoulders, and wail.

There is no shame or judgment here. Let all the women in you, rally around each other; let them create a safe space for themselves to pour out their sorrows and wipe each other’s tears without any judgment.

These women know what if feels to broken, defeated, diminished and whipped by life:
The woman in you who wanted to be a sister
The woman in you who wanted to be a daughter

The woman in you who wanted to be a lawyer

The woman in you who wanted to be a wife
The woman in you who wanted to be a friend

The woman in you who wanted to be a mother
The woman in you who wanted to be a colleague

The woman in you who wanted to be an adventurer

The woman in you who wanted to be wealthy

The woman in you who wanted a family

The woman in you who wanted to live her truth
The woman in you who wanted to be…

All these women are stucked, immobile, broken, defeated and shattered.

I hope you know that it’s okay to let them come together, hold hands and mourn what could have been.

Let them mourn what was broken; let them cry and yell like a toddler who wants the mother’s breast. I hope you know it’s safe here. I hope you let them rally around and hold each other.

These women in you are tired and helpless. I hope you can let them be there for each other. You don’t have to hide them from each other. They’re all going through this, together.

It’s okay to fall apart here, you can pick up each other’s rubbies and maybe fix it.
I hope you remember that you all are on this journey together and if the car is faulty, you are all going to be stuck and stranded. I hope you know it’s safe to yell, complain, and express your frustrations whilst looking for a way out.

I hope you remember to always come back here, hold yourself, break down, wail and fix yourself.

I hope you remember it’s safe to be here….
